Loving life.....
The first night in I don't know how long that I don't have school work, and the girls got an extra night off swimming (the pool was booked by a Japanese school team? something like that.....). So how did we spend our night? Well, Ellie has a birthday party this Saturday and needed a present for it. Its a sleepover, which of course we don't do- much to Ellie's dismay who started a whole "I want to sleep over" campaign for like a day until she saw I was serious about the "no". She is going for the "half" sleep over, because really thats all I can handle. Ellie would be fine, I can guarantee you that- its me that made the rule of no sleep overs, ever. I had a friend that used to say "nothing good will ever happen after 9pm that can't happen before it". I stick to that concept, helps me sleep at night.
After the present purchasing-not to mention some great Subway subs in hand- we came home. The girls finished subs and homework in record time because they saw Jonathan's cars were in his driveway. Kevin made it home 6-ish which gave me just enough time to run out to the commissary (grocery store for the laymen in my life) and fill the cart with whatever looked edible. Home to the olympics for a bit and getting the kids settled in bed.
My evening is over- but I am still feeling greedy for more free time! This full time working is really cutting into my homemaking skills!
Looking forward to it all slowing down- March looks like a good month on paper, hopefully will also be a good month in reality......
Have a great day!

Happy 150th post!
I would like to thank my sponsors and my promoters ......
Can you believe that I (along with minimal input from guest bloggers...) have put in 150 posts? Has it gone quickly or do you find yourselves saying "when will she ever stop yammering on about nothing?"
The fact that I started blogging the week after we arrived, means we have been here on Guam for a fair piece of time now- almost right on 6 months....... half of a year........ one quarter of our total stay here...... I won't say its flying by but it is definitely trudging along.
Gotta say the girls and I are really excited at the summer coming closer and closer so we can make our way home for a bit. I am not sure if I am more excited about Canada (Barb hates it when I call home "Canada"-its very American to be so general!) this summer, or the end of my school year, May 30th.....I guess I will go with the end of my school year since it comes first :)
For now we will try to keep living in the moment, feeling blessed by the day we are given.....
And keep on blogging those days and moments so you can share them :)
Thanks for reading the previous 150 posts- I will check in with you again at 200 and see if you are still there.....

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Valentine's Day! Not to mention the three day weekend- President's Day here in the States and Family Day up in Canada- oh and lets just call it No Day Off for Government of Guam Employees Day for me! Sound a bit bitter?- think maybe I am.......
Madison and I went to see Lightning Thief yesterday- had a really nice time and she really enjoyed the movie.
The next big movie coming out for her is in March-
She loves this series of books (Ann and Gene got her a few of these for Christmas-read them in a day) lots of sarcastic humor- so up her alley!
Watched the openings for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics last night (ya, the timing is all messed up here.....go figure eh?) and really enjoyed it. Always am proud to be a Canadian- but just that much happier for it yesterday. Had a lot of comments on facebook from my friends, thinking of me when they were watching the opening and how great it was- so I must represent Canada in an ok way for them to have positive thoughts about me as a Canadian right?- hopefully they weren't just trying to be nice.....
Overall- really thought the opening was so well done. The only problem I had was that I had to listen to Matt Lauer for the commentary- he wasn't as kind as he could have been when the cauldron malfunctioned at the end... really, one issue with all those special effects? I call that a success.
Well enjoy your Valentines, and enjoy your Family Day. Might as well call it Fun Being Off Day for Maddie and Ellie 'cause you know they aren't thinking about any of the presidents with their free time!

GNO
Maddie and I have a date tomorrow.
Really exciting here- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is finally out in theaters! Madison has read and reread this series so we are hoping for a good movie! Ellie hasn't read the book yet, so she and Kevin will go see it when it comes to base and she will have finished the book by then.

Let you know how good it is!
